Ace Bonner Charged With Assault On Pregnant Woman

Police have charged Ace Bonner with assaulting a pregnant woman in an incident on New Year's Day.

Bonner, 37, of 3104 Taylor St., is charged with assault with a viable fetus as the victim.

Police spoke with a woman who had gone to Erlanger Hospital. She said she was at a friend's apartment on Wilson Street when Bonner came in and there was a verbal altercation.

She said he grabbed her by her braided hair and threw her to the floor, where he began to strike her in the stomach and upper torso area.

She said he hit her 5-10 times before leaving.

Police said the woman is 22 weeks and two days along in her pregnancy.

A nurse said it appeared the baby's heart was beating regularly.

There were bare spots on the victim's head that were bleeding. There was no visible bruising to her stomach.

DeArius Moore, 21, was shot on Pinewood Avenue on Tuesday.   The Chattanooga Police Department responded at 12:15 p.m. to a person who had been shot at the 3300 block of Pinewood Ave.   The Chattanooga Police responded to a local hospital on reports of a patient suffering from a gunshot wound.
