The Speech And Hearing Center Announces Ribbon Cutting Celebration At New Location To Commemorate 65th Anniversary

Thursday, January 18, 2018

The Speech & Hearing Center opened its doors in 1953 to help those with hearing loss and speech challenges. After more than 40 years in its Holtzclaw Avenue location, the nonprofit will have a ribbon cutting celebration at its new location in Friar’s Branch Crossing at 6016 Shallowford Road, Suite 1500, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421 off of Highway 153 at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25. The ribbon cutting will take place at 4:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be provided.

With patient demand from Cleveland, Ooltewah, Hixson and Soddy Daisy, as well as North Georgia growing, the Center realized a more common thoroughfare with convenient parking and visibility was paramount, and spent the last several years evaluating real estate.

CEO Erica Newman said, “Throughout our history, we have prided ourselves in offering the highest quality of care regardless of a patient’s income with the most experienced, credentialed Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists the industry has to offer. We wanted the overall patient experience to mirror that level of care: from the parking lot, to the speech rooms and the audiology suite, all the way down to the restrooms, we kept the comfort and ease of the community in mind. We are beyond excited to give our patients this fresh, new space to be able to enjoy the expertise of our staff.”

To further commemorate the organization’s 65th Anniversary, The Speech & Hearing Center is launching a Speak Up and Leave Your Legacy campaign. Organizers said, "We want to know how The Speech & Hearing Center has played a part in your communicative journey. Please join us in our efforts to provide the community with hearing health services, hearing aids, industrial mobile hearing testing and the speech and language therapy the Center provides with a $25.00 donation and your personal story and pictures to share with others. Your donation is tax deductible and can be made on Facebook at @speechhearingchattanooga or mailed to:
