Volunteers Raise $101,000 In 3 Nights For Ronald McDonald House Share-A-Night Fund

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga kicked off its annual Share-A-Night Campaign with three nights of calling supporters to renew their support.  The Share-A-Night Fund Phonathon asks individuals to sponsor the cost of a family at the Ronald McDonald House for one night or more. It costs $66 to host one family for one night and over $1,800 a night to cover the costs of the entire 28-bedroom facility.   

Volunteers raised a record $101,000 in pledges during the annual event which was held at the Ronald McDonald House on Feb. 5, 6 and 12. The amount raised will pay for the entire 28-bedroom facility for about 56 days. 

More than 60 volunteers worked the event including all active board members.  The support of the employees of Kohl’s Hixson added $1,500 to the Share-A-Night Fund with their Kohl’s Cares program by volunteering each night of the Phonathon.

2 Bank Tellers Say They Are Positive Walter Rice Was Gunman Who Robbed Hixson Branch

Two tellers from the Hixson branch of the Bank of America testified Tuesday they are positive that Walter Frank Rice is the individual who robbed them at gunpoint last July 25.
