Food Preservation Class Offered On 5 Dates At 3 Locations

UT Extension Institute of Agriculture is offering a food preservation class, where participants can learn to safely can and freeze foods.  Topics covered will include jams & jellies, pickling, waterbath, freezing, vegetables, blanching and pressure canner.

Participants will be to choose from five dates and three Chattanooga locations:

June 21 - Crabtree Farms, 1-3 p.m. - must register by June 18
June 21 - Crabtree Farms, 6-8 p.m. - must register by June 18
July 12 - John Patten Rec Center, 6-8 p.
m. - must register by July 9
July 19 - UT Extension Office, 10 a.m.-noon - must register by July 16
July 19 - UT Extension Office, 6-8 p.m. - must register by July 16

Karen Saxton, 64, Killed In Crash On Highway 58 Saturday Afternoon

One person was killed in a crash on Highway 58 on Saturday afternoon. The victim was identified as Karen Saxton, 64. Juvenile Shot On East 14th Street On Friday

A juvenile was shot Friday evening on East 14th Street. The Chattanooga Police Department responded at 6:45 p.m. to a person shot in the 2000 block of East 14th Street. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
