Frightening Supreme Court Nomination - And Response

Tuesday, July 10, 2018

To say we should be frightened by this new SCOTUS Nominee is an understatement of epic proportions.  Women should be especially concerned and anyone who has any women close to them, like a wife, mother, sister, friend, should be scared and wary.

If Roe vs. Wade is reversed, then women's reproductive healthcare will be virtually nonexistent. No matter what your views are on abortion, religious, moral, ethical, they have no argument on this subject. Sorry if that upsets some people, but church and state should be separate.  Thomas Jefferson's metaphor of a wall of separation has been cited repeatedly by the U.S. Supreme Court. In Reynolds v. United States (1879) the Court wrote that Jefferson's comments "may be accepted almost as an authoritative declaration of the scope and effect of the [First] Amendment." In Everson v. Board of Education (1947), Justice Hugo Black wrote: "In the words of Thomas Jefferson, the clause against establishment of religion by law was intended to erect a wall of separation between church and state."

If Roe vs Wade is reversed, it won't stop abortions.  It will stop safe and medically supervised abortions.  Women will be dying due to back alley and dangerous, unlicensed medical procedures.  No matter your view, a woman has the right to choose. Personally, I am Dual Pro.  In my opinion, abortion is not birth control, but it is still a woman's decision and rights should not be revoked.

In addition, the threat to Marriage Equality is real and dangerous.  No matter your views, it's nobody's business and it's uncontrollable who a person loves. It has no bearing on anyone's life other than on the two people who want to share their love, life and commitment.  We cannot allow this country to regress. We have come so far, that we are all so finally close to equal rights, we must persevere and continue to grow as a nation.

Research would have served you well Sir regarding this future Justice, IF you believe and love the Constitution this man is custom made!  If you want to live in a country that is doing everything possible to turn the Constitution on its head because it's "old and not relevant", get more liberal judges.

IF (and that's huge) RoeVWade is reversed it merely sends the legal abortion "right" back to the states to govern where it should have been to begin with.  My thoughts are that liberal states will go beyond the original ruling and states like ours will put a huge halt to "abortion in every pot".  Nothing to be afraid of here and I'm surprised my educated sisters would be out protesting about something that's really a mute "idea".  Planned Parenthood has more money than God and it's showing today.

Here's a thought to ponder...the radical liberal side consistently brings up this crazy idea about Hitler and Nazi Germany to equate to what our President is trying to do.  Nazi Germany murdered 6,000,000 (an estimate) innocents over 60 years ago, the United States has allowed the murder of over 60,000,000 truly innocents over the past 40 years...WHERE is the conscious of America over this genocide?  To say "it's a woman's right" is astonishing.  This is not to say where a woman's life is in danger shouldn't be considered but to murder a baby simply because a woman wants a career, got drunk and stupid, has too many live children, can't afford birth control, wants a boy rather than a girl, wants blue eyes and not brown, can't afford to feed another mouth or is just plain lazy is most definitely going to make God frown.  Where's the right to choose folks holding those Hitler signs when you look at 60,000,000 white crosses that never made it to the cemetery?

In the early 70's I had a very close mentor who had 5 children and was pregnant again.  She was a business professional, made excellent money and married to a great guy.  She simply did not want to upset her busy life with another baby and she had one of those "back alley abortions".  During her chemo therapy for lung cancer that baby became her focus and on her death bed she told me how wrong she had been and of her fears of what God would say to her (she was a strict Catholic).  Her fear was real and while I personally believe God the Father would forgive her I also felt then and well as now that He would forgive her while holding that child.

The original op was written with regards to the Supreme Court and what would happen to women's rights but my op is this...let's all pray someone with some sense gets on there to change the path this court has taken over the past 40 years to turn this country up side down and re-write our Constitution.  Our founding fathers couldn't imagine killing babies or same sex marriage centuries ago...they could only imagine equality and the far reaches of our Congress because man happens to be our biggest enemy when it comes to destroying a republic.

No Double Standard

If Kavanaugh's conformation is derailed, we as Americans should demand "equality" under the law and investigate and prosecute every single sexual harassment case that involved any politician.  The law should have no double standard.  Two can play this dangerous game.  Bob Bogart (click for more)
