Dec. 8-17

Dec. 8-30
The Chattanooga Theatre Centre’s upcoming production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast offers a musical extravaganza with a touch of Christmas spirit. Performances are set for Dec. 8-10, Dec. 14-17, and Dec. 28-30, with no performances on Christmas weekend. Performances will be Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 8-9 and 15-16, at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Dec. 9 and 16, at 2:30 p.m.; Sundays, Dec. 10 and 17, at 2:30 p.m.; Thursdays, Dec. 14 and 28, at 7 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, Dec. 29-30, at 7 p.m. Live captioning for the hearing impaired will be offered Thursday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m.  Admission is $11-$30 and available by visiting the Theatre Centre box office at 400 River St. (Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.), by calling the box office at 267-8534 or by going to TheatreCentre.com.      

Dec. 16-17
The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera will present their annual family holiday tradition, Home for the Holidays, on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. at the Tivoli Theatre. This year, the CSO will be joined by Chattanooga vocalist Neshawn Calloway, the CSO Chorus, the Center for Creative Arts Choir, and the Metropolitan Bells, all conducted by CSO Music Director Kayoko Dan. Tickets range from $21 (while supplies last) to $85 and children 17 and under can attend for $15. Southern gospel performers the Singing Echoes will appear at Sacred Sounds Fridays at 7:30 p.m. at Ringgold's Patriot's Hall, 320 Emberson Drive in Ringgold, for the Share America Foundation. Randall Franks from TV's "In the Heat of the Night” will emcee. The event is a fundraiser for the Pearl and Floyd Franks Scholarship Fund helping musicians achieve higher education. Donations for tickets are adults: $10, children 12 and under free with adult. A body was found in a Cleveland creek on Sunday afternoon. Cleveland Police said the body was in Candies Creek behind the Westwood Baptist Church. The body was located just after 2 p.m. An autopsy was to be performed on Monday. (click for more)
